1. Introduction:
The 2nd International Youth Policy Conference aims to provide a platform for youth leaders, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners from around the world to gather, exchange ideas, and collaborate on youth policy development and implementation. The conference will serve as a catalyst for youth empowerment and sustainable development by addressing key challenges and fostering innovative solutions. Taking place in the beautiful city of Kathmandu, Nepal, the conference will offer a unique cultural backdrop and an enriching environment for dialogue and collaboration.

2. Objectives:
a. Foster International Cooperation: Promote international collaboration and cooperation among youth policymakers and stakeholders, facilitating the sharing of experiences, knowledge, and best practices in youth policy development and implementation.
b. Share Knowledge and Experiences: Provide a platform for participants to share research findings, case studies, and experiences related to youth policy, enabling a collective understanding of effective approaches, challenges, and opportunities.
c. Address Key Challenges: Identify and address the critical challenges faced by youth globally, such as education, employment, health, gender equality, climate change, and social inclusion, and explore innovative strategies and solutions to overcome these challenges.
d. Promote Inclusivity and Youth Participation: Advocate for the meaningful inclusion and active participation of youth in policy-making processes, ensuring their voices are heard, their needs are addressed, and their perspectives are considered.
e. Capacity Building: Enhance the capacity of youth policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders by providing workshops and skill-building sessions focused on youth policy development, implementation, and evaluation.
3. Target Group:
The 2nd IYPC2023 invites participants from diverse backgrounds and sectors, including:
a. Youth Policymakers: Government officials, policymakers, and decision-makers responsible for youth policies at national, regional, and local levels.
b. International Organizations and NGOs: Representatives from international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and civil society groups working on youth-related issues.
c. Researchers and Academics: Scholars, researchers, and academics specializing in youth development, policy, and related fields.
d. Youth Leaders and Activists: Young leaders, activists, and change-makers engaged in youth empowerment initiatives, youth-led organizations, and youth networks.
4. Outcomes:

Interested participants/delegates are required to register for the conference through the provided link. Once the registration is complete, an official invitation letter will be provided to the delegates, and if necessary, a hotel reservation letter will be issued to assist with the visa process. Your hotel reservation will be issued after submitting the air ticket.

Thematic Presentations: The conference will feature four thematic presentations delivered by experts who specialise in the respective themes of the event. These presentations will delve deep into the core topics of the conference, providing valuable insights and expertise from knowledgeable professionals. Each thematic presentation will focus on a specific theme, allowing attendees to gain a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter through expert perspectives and engage in meaningful discussions.
Cross-cutting Presentations: A total of twelve cross-cutting presentations will be conducted during the conference. These presentations will be delivered by delegates representing diverse sectors, including researchers, scholars, and community practitioners. The aim of these presentations is to highlight the interconnectedness of various fields and showcase the multidisciplinary nature of the conference. By bringing together professionals from different sectors, the cross-cutting presentations will facilitate knowledge exchange, collaboration, and innovative approaches to addressing the challenges of the conference’s overarching themes.
Presentation Guidelines
Each session at the conference is scheduled for approximately 90 minutes, including concurrent oral presentations following the distinguished speakers. There will be altogether four effective presentations per session to be delivered. Each presenter in the concurrent session is allotted a tentative time of 15 minutes for their presentation, followed by 5 minutes for questions and discussion. However, please note that these time allocations may be subject to change, and any adjustments will be duly communicated to the presenters in advance.
The presence of Moderators and reporters in the session hall ensures that the session adheres to the designated time slots. As a presenter, you will be notified approximately 2 minutes before your allocated time is up, allowing you to conclude your presentation smoothly. Session chair will conclude the session with summary of presentation and discussion.
9. Everest International Youth Award 2023
The Everest International Youth Award (EIYA) 2023 is a prestigious global event that aims to recognize and celebrate the outstanding contributions of young individuals to the 15 priority areas for youth adopted by the United Nations under the World Program of Action for Youth (WPAY). The award seeks to honor young leaders who have made significant impacts in these areas, empowering them to continue their efforts and inspire others to create positive change. The award ceremony will be organized on the occasion of 2nd International Youth Policy Conference 2023 to be held in Kathmandu, Nepal from 29-31 August 2023.
Theme: “Youth Driving Change: Celebrating Contributions to the 15 Priority Areas for Youth”
The theme for the Everest International Youth Award 2023 revolves around celebrating the contributions of young individuals in addressing the 15 priority areas for youth as outlined by the United Nations. It highlights the crucial role that youth play in driving change and creating sustainable solutions in these critical areas.
The EIYA 2023 aims to recognize and honor young leaders who have made remarkable contributions to one or more of the 15 priority areas for youth as identified by the United Nations. These areas include education, employment, hunger and poverty, health, environment, drug abuse, juvenile delinquency, volunteerism and leisure time use, girls and young women, participation in decision-making, globalization, information and communication technology, HIV/AIDS, armed conflict, and intergenerational issues.

13. Visa:
To attend the conference in Nepal, please be aware that a valid visa may be required, except for Indian nationals. All countries, with the exception of the 12 listed below, can obtain an on-arrival visa at TIA airport in Kathmandu. To receive the on-arrival visa, you will need a valid passport, an invitation letter, and a hotel reservation letter. However, residents of countries other than SAARC countries will be subject to visa charges for the on-arrival visa.
The following 12 countries are requested to obtain their visas from Nepalese diplomatic missions (Embassies and Consulates) before their departure to Nepal: Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria, and refugees with travel documents.
